I finally made my NYC debut!

I'm so proud!

I've accomplished a lot of firsts this weekend and want to share the story with you!

Here's a quick bite of how I made my NYC debut.

Velvet Groove Review Recap

It was a night of firsts for me. Thank you Velvet Groove Review!

I had an amazing time performing with some incredibly talented people at The Velvet Groove Review on Saturday!

I got to perform in NYC for the first time, Despite experiencing a level 10 shoulder pain throughout the week, I managed to push through and arrived in NYC ready to give it my all.

I danced to live music for the first time, performed in NYC for the first time, and even received my first $5, $10, and $20 tips! Thank you, generous audience members!

It was an absolute honor to share the stage with my HTS sister @caseyurban, who not only produced the show but also performed in it. It was truly a surreal moment to see her singing her heart out while I was dancing. The energy was amazing!

Costume Updates Update

Over the last two years I have been slowly collecting materials to upgrade the outfit for my favorite, and most positively responded to number, Breathing. I've been learning to sew in order to make these upgrades a possibility, and... well... It's been rough learning to sew and at the same time, trying to make something that's sew (heh) important to an act I love so much.
Because of the people in my life who keep reminding me what an impactful number it was, and the support and suggestions from The Portal House by Casey Urban, and the sewing instruction from Manuge Et Toi on Patreon...I have finally been making some strides in getting this costume update done!

I cannot wait to twirl around in this insane amount of chiffon for the pannel skirt! The gauntlets and bra are stretchy mesh material and will require some fitting. I also have to *finish* the bra and pannel skirt, but so far I like what I'm seeing!

Next comes hemming the skirt pieces, finishing the bra, and making the belt for the skirt. Wish me luck!!

Transformation Loading... A quick look at my 3 favorite acts Hello Killrs, I hope the Spring season is treating you well. This season is a time for rebirth, so today I'm sharing with you three acts I've been quietly upgrading. Take a peek! Breathing ✨ This is an act I'll be taking with me into the future. Originally debuted as "My Soul" to the song of the same name by Thrice, this act has morphed into the crowd favorite, "Breathing". Built as a vehicle tell my story of survival, this act...

- On A Personal Note - A quarterly newsletter on my life as an artist from Selina Starkillr 2025 was NOT it for me… And yet, here I am, alive and well in 2026. How did it go for you? It’s been a while since we last connected, and so very much has happened. Let’s catch up, shall we? Last year was full of surprises for me, momentous highs and deep, dark lows. I started and ended a business partnership, joined and left a drag house, performed new nerdlesque & burlesque acts, shared my art at...

Selina starkillr's notes on: How Comparative Mindsets Keep Us Stuck Have you ever gotten an idea for an act or performance, only to stop yourself because you “don’t have a good enough costume”? Or maybe you’ve seen others bravely baring it all in burlesque and thought, “Oh, I could never do that.” Is this something that you’ve felt before? know I have. It’s called a comparative mindset, and it can lead to feeling lonely, sad, and contribute to low self esteem. Especially in today’s world of...
