New Year, Same Me, New Skills!

Happy New Year everyone!

2024 was a crazy year.

Let's start off 2025 by doing something nice for ourselves!

Hey all! How have you been?

It's been a while since our last chat. What have I been up to? Oh, just co-producing my first three burlesque, drag, and pole events with the amazing Miranda Darling! We're called Killr Darling Productions, and our event is called Outcast Cabaret! There are tons of pictures of our events over on our Instagram here.

Our next event is coming up soon! Outcast Cabaret is back in February and it's FREE to attend! I'll keep you updated!

I've had an incredible time watching my dreams of creating a show come together. I've created some new acts that I can't wait to show off, including Power the Demon Fiend and a new version of Catwoman. These surprises and much more are on the way for 2025!

New Year New Who?

I decided instead of making resolutions this year, I would try a mantra instead. What I came up with was, "New Year, Same Me, New Skills."

I don't need a whole new me, I've been working hard to get where I am today. What I do need, is to lean into learning my craft with more depth. To finally learn the skills I've been putting off or have been too scared to learn, like sewing a bra or hot rolling my hair! Instead of making an empty promise, I decided to renew my faith in myself.

I've been taking action this way by rededicating myself to a movement practice, to strengthen my body. By dedicating small chunks of time each day to practice learning on my sewing projects, and more. If you've been waiting to learn the skill of burlesque, then this is your call to take action!

Transformation Loading... A quick look at my 3 favorite acts Hello Killrs, I hope the Spring season is treating you well. This season is a time for rebirth, so today I'm sharing with you three acts I've been quietly upgrading. Take a peek! Breathing ✨ This is an act I'll be taking with me into the future. - On A Personal Note - A quarterly newsletter on my life as an artist from Selina Starkillr 2025 was NOT it for me… And yet, here I am, alive and well in 2026. How did it go for you? It’s been a while since we last connected, and so very much has happened. Let’s catch up, shall we? Last year was full of surprises for me, momentous highs and deep, dark lows. I started and ended a business partnership, joined and left a drag house, performed new nerdlesque & burlesque acts, shared my art at...

Selina starkillr's notes on: How Comparative Mindsets Keep Us Stuck Have you ever gotten an idea for an act or performance, only to stop yourself because you “don’t have a good enough costume”? Or maybe you’ve seen others bravely baring it all in burlesque and thought, “Oh, I could never do that.” Is this something that you’ve felt before? know I have. It’s called a comparative mindset, and it can lead to feeling lonely, sad, and contribute to low self esteem. Especially in today’s world of...
